Monday

I decided that the pain from my endomitriosis was too much for me to work out on Monday. I did go home and go to the grocery store and make a healthy dinner though since I wasn’t going to work out. Little did I know that this week would hold quite a few health concerns and I would work out far less than I anticipated.

Tuesday

I went to cardio dance and was super excited about it this week. As my readers know, the last couple weeks have been weird with health issues and I’ve had to miss my favorite class once or twice.

This week turned badly pretty quick though. Halfway through the class, I started to feel an asthma attack coming on. I tried to slow my breathing (since my inhaler was back in my office) but instead of calming down and the feeling passing, it only got worse. I could feel my limbs slowing down. I could feel myself trying to move faster and not being able to. At one point, Annie came over and tried to urge me to go faster. I heard her and tried but my body was just not having it. I did end up finishing the class, but it was a struggle. At the end of class, I ended up going into that asthma attack that I had been fighting.

Wednesday

I was all prepared to work out Wednesday, however the asthma attacks would not stop. I had one at 2:30 am in the middle of the night and another as I was just sitting in my desk during the work day. I decided it was best not to work out and to instead go home and try to calm down.

Thursday

I ended up missing work Thursday because the asthma problems persisted. I looked up some information and I believe it to be the heat wave middle Tennessee is experiencing. They said the high heat/humidity can cause a lot of problems for mild asthma patients. (I don’t have to take a daily inhaler so I am classified as a mild asthma patient. Before these last attacks, I can’t really name the last time I had to use my inhaler.) I tried to do what I could but my body was exhausted and desperately trying to keep up with itself.

Friday

I was able to enjoy Zumba today without another attack. However, I did have to take my inhaler before the class and be sure to take it down a notch. I tried really hard to listen to my body and make sure I wasn’t going to have another attack. While I may not have gotten as much exercise this week as I would’ve liked, I will also work on Sunday and can take an additional class then.

Lesson of the week, readers: Listen to your body. Don’t push yourself too hard. It’s better to take of yourself (since that’s the point of exercise!)
